The 4L Trophy, an iconic student rally, is more than just a car race. It embodies the spirit of adventure, solidarity, and creativity by pitting teams against each other in Renault 4Ls across the Moroccan desert. In 2022, our garage APR-Werke eagerly embraced the challenge by refurbishing three of these legendary 4Ls to participate in this unique event. The restoration of these iconic vehicles not only garnered the admiration of car enthusiasts but also allowed our team to contribute to a noble cause by delivering essential school supplies to underprivileged children in Morocco.

This rally is covering about 6000 km. It crosses 3 countries, from Biarritz through Spain to Algeciras and Tangiers. Finally, the 4Ls crossed the desert to reach Merzouga and Marrakech.

Some of the cars have not been used for years, which made very large works on the car bodies necessary. On all vehicles, the suspension and brake system have been replaced as well as all relevant engine aggregates. For one car, also the cylinder head gasket had to be replaced.

Furthermore, underbody protectors and tow hooks were made and installed according to the regulations of the 4L Trophy.

All three vehicles passed the MFK test and successfully completed the 4L Trophy.

This memorable experience strengthened our commitment to solidarity and adventure, all while breathing new life into these classic vehicles.
